Sweating in a Winter Wonderland...week 1
I'm embarking on a hybrid snowshoe trip from Finland to Ely. What's a hybrid snowshoe trip, you ask? Well, it is a snowshoe trip that isn't entirely a virtual trip since I am actually snowshoeing the entire mileage. But, it isn't a real trip, either, as I am not actually snowshoeing to Ely.
SO - every day, I strap on the old snow shoes and do at least a .7mi trek. Not very long, I know, but I do this every day. It adds up. This week, I put on 5.6mi. I made a little map of the route from here to Ely and will mark off my distance every week with a sketch of a Northland critter. I may not make the whole trip on snowshoe. It is a weird dry winter this year. But, even if I have to walk and bike ride part of it, I will finish the trip !!
Tune in every Sunday for an updated map !! Who knows, maybe I will even write some more Haiku while I am at it !!
